Free to play traditional MMORPG
RAN Online is a free to play MMORPG. Enter one of three universities and learn to wield powerful abilities in this traditional online RPG.
Familiar world
RAN Online begins with a choice of three universities, each having their own specialities and practices. Players then become students, learning new skills and fighting alongside others against possessed characters. This unique theme is a stark contrast to the gameplay which follows the traditional MMORPG style without exception. PVP and PVE are available with a heavy focus on teamwork and exploration, magic and items can be found and levelling goes all the way to 260. Veteran MMORPG players will find little new or unexpected in the game, but this is not necessarily a bad feature. RAN Online has been running for over a decade and so has both a huge array of content and an extremely dated aesthetic. Players looking to get lost and grind in a familiar environment could certainly find worse games, but those new to the genre will almost certainly become bored quickly. A fairly terrible English translation and a poor user base are also hurdles to overcome.
Back to basics
RAN Online is a relic of a distant past. Those hunting for a nostalgic hit of MMORPG will find hundreds of hours of missions and levelling, but the overall experience is still mediocre to poor.

While I like the features of the game the software that plays the game with me cheats, and cheats really bad. Even on the Easy setting (which I believe is bs no matter what setting it plays the same) it hits my single puck eight times out of ten on the first role.
If I am lucky I might get to hit the software's single puck three out of ten times and then it only allows me to do this when it cost me, like leaving a single puck in my home quarter. Toward the end of the game I can have four out of six points covered and hit the software's singe puck and it will roll out with only two out of a six chance to do so on the first roll. Reverse this were the software has four points covered in its home square and I roll six or seven times before I can get out, if I get out at all. None of this happens to me when I play with real people on real board. On a real board the dice roll is random, with Free Backgammon software it controls the roll of the dice and rolls what it needs, it only pretends to roll random by allowing me to win two out of ten games. Does not cheat like lots of programs..
This is a great program and it really is free! It's also very winnable, not like most backgammon games that cheat. Very happy with it! Pros:
I love the graphics and ease of play. More
